How Do We See The World?

We all see the world differently.
The Map Is Not The Territory.
What you see on the map is not the actual reality.
What appears to be reality is only your reality, no-one elses.
People respond to their map of reality, not to the reality itself. Fundamentally, it is not possible to know reality directly; we know it only through our senses.

As information passes through our sensory organs and is processed by the brain, it gets distorted, deleted and generalized. Often your perception of something is not reality …

How many times does ‘f’ appear in this :-
“Finished files are frequently the result of years of scientific research.”

Most people say four, but it’s not, is it?

The way the information is transformed is governed by our mental and emotional filters, by our beliefs, and by our focus of attention.

The filters, the beliefs, and the attention are all a result of our past and are highly individual.

What is stressful to one, is peaceful to another. What is funny to one, is boring to another.

If I said something insulting to one person, and the same to another. One could take it personally and respond accordingly. For the other it could be like water off a duck’s back and have absolutely no affect.

Each one of us can only respond to their map of reality, and these maps of realities are widely different. It is silly to get upset at someone thinking or responding differently than yourself, because if you had their map of reality, you would think and respond the same way they do.
