NLP Secret Tip #1 How to Adopt a Positive Mindset to Help Your Child
Rachael Mah asked:
The first key is to have a positive mindset about life in general.
The more positive energy that flows through your home the better.
Then you have to decide that you want to change the way you deal with negative situations and behavior in your child. One method of making that change is called New Behavior Generator and here is how it goes:
1. Make sure you have at least a half an hour during which you will not be disturbed and sit comfortably or lie down.
2. Choose a person whose behavior you admire, someone who you would like to model. This could be another parent who’s parenting technique and patience you wish to emulate.
3. Close your eyes and picture that person clearly. Imagine a situation in which that person is handling a parenting situation. Pay attention to everything about that person, including the way they look, how they speak, how they hold themselves, their mannerisms, and their gestures. Make sure you want to model that behavior.
4. Now it is time to start over and imagine that situation again, but this time imagine that you are in that person’s place. As you handle the situation in your mind, adjust any negative aspects of your behavior to match that of your role model.
5. Now you need to actually look through the eyes of this person/yourself with your own eyes and see yourself handling the situation like your role model would.
6. Once you open your eyes, you are the new you. You are the person who handles situations in this way. You must keep that image of yourself firmly planted in your mind. As you move on with your day, note how it feels to be that new person.
7. Now you want to anchor that feeling by making a gesture that you will associate with that feeling. You can make a thumbs-up sign or a fist or whatever works best for you.
8. Begin using the new behavior immediately and be consciously aware of your behavior so that you can make adjustments as you need to. Soon you will be that new person!
These are some great NLP tips that can be practiced by you to achieve success with positive mentoring on your child to derive win win outcomes.
